A Project That Might Have Been

 

Found this and it dates back to the mid 1990s (1997?) when D. C. Thomson pretended that it wanted to update its old adventure heroes. They wanted a sort of in-house teaser that would go into its titles and this was a rough for one of those.  

The New Hornet was the dummy comic put together and characters included an adult Billy the Cat, Mr Pendragon, Captain Hornet, etc and although most of that work is no longer with me (all went back to the artists) what pages I have I have shared online in the past.  

Might have been an interesting project but I worked 7 days a week well into early mornings and after three months Thomson simply said "Oh, that. We're not really interested."  

That was it. Not even a kill fee because that is the way British comics worked.
