My Regrets: D-Gruppe Germany's First Super hero team

I will admit that I had wanted the D-Gruppe (Germany's first super hero team created by me in the 1960s) to have evolved much more by now.  After Die Rache der Eiskönigin (Revenge of the Ice Queen) debuted in Preview New Talent Comic in 1987 and later in the German Watcher it piqued interest.

It was also quickly grabbed as an idea by an editor at Basteie Verlag  until the Gothenburg Group  (Egmont) bought up Bastei and everything was dumped. Oddly, the same thing happened with Fleetway later on and projects were simply thrown out.

So what happened to the follow ups such as "Narri Narro" and "D-Gruppe Lost in Space" ? Well, long story and quite boring. Lots of artists jumped in on solo strips such as "The Goldener Soldat" , "Wavell", "Rotkäppchen" (drawn by Iskander Islam and in colour) and "Deutscher Michel" (drawn by the ever professional John Erasmus) but most decided that it was either too much hard work or that they were destined for comic stardom (and vanished from the medium).

I did a couple of short strips but that was not the sum total of D-Gruppe appearances.  They also guest starred in The Trial when it was published in Black Tower Super Heroes and they also guest starred in Return of the Gods in which some of the members disappeared while chasing a UFO )hence "D-Gruppe Lost in Space"). Members also featured prominently along with Task Force Deutschland in The Green Skies so they have been popping up a few times and I hope will appear in the much pushed "Days of Darkness" story first planned in 1987 as well as Return from Space.

I will repost an item so those not familiar can learn a little about D-Gruppe.
